Extremely rare and exceptionally well sorted Porsche 997 GRAND AM spec GT3 Cup race car. Professionally maintained in heated indoor storage at Air Power Racing based at Utah Motorsports Campus, 30 minutes from the Salt Lake City airport.
Porsche only built Grand Am spec GT3 Cup Cars for a few years and there are less than a dozen left. Very few are in excellent condition like this car, currently vying for the NASA Utah championship in Super Touring 1 after a prestigious history in Grand Am and other series.
Porsche Grand Am GT3 Cup cars received many excellent upgrades (extensive use of lightweight carbon fiber, wider rear (330/710 Yokohamas), huge Brembo brakes with cooling ducts, enhanced roll cage and safety bars, programmable Bosch ECU with traction control/multiple maps and more).
This superb car has been further upgraded with a new clutch and freshly rebuilt transmission from BRM, new 4.0L motor with 62 hours, KMP pneumatic paddle-shift system with autoblip, Porsche Motorsports ABS, freshly rebuilt driveshafts, new GT3R motor mount, JRZ adjustable shocks, new Lexan windshield with four tearoffs, coolbox, passenger seat with belts and more. Spares include a complete set of new uprights from Porsche Motorsports, a spare driveshaft and three sets of BBS wheels and tires. This car gets fresh Liqui Moly racing oil and gear oil after every race weekend. The current graphics are a wrap that can be removed to bring the car back to white or changed to the new owner's preference.
