Les Long

Team Owner

Les is a retired fighter pilot whose first Porsche was purchased in Germany in 1980 while flying the F4 Phantom II. He was stationed in various assignments in Europe until 1990 when he returned to the States.  He was an F5 Aggressor Pilot, an F-16 Fighter Weapons School graduate, and was the 4th Fighter Squadron Commander.  While in command of the 4th, the squadron set the all-time daylight flying record with 320 sorties in 72 hours.  He’s a command pilot with over 3000 flying hours and 155 Combat hours in Southwest Asia.

Les retired in 2000 and followed his passion by starting Air Power Racing. His driving and instructor resume includes instructing at Utah Motorsports Campus, overall champion in big bore at UMC’s home series.  Les also has overall wins and championships in the Porsche Owners Club,  NASA, and Porsche Club of America.
